Yes, I noticed that -- but this would be routine for this particular meeting for this particular ward (per the bishopric's rather detailed instructions as represented in the link). Maybe the letters were to maintain the evident routine of the general the sacrament meeting plan instructions as listed in the Handbook. 29. Meetings in the Church (churchofjesuschrist.org)

Meetings in the Church (churchofjesuschrist.org) There is a lot of latitude in "10. Gospel messages and congregational singing or other music." There is no need to be locked into the sacrament-talk-hymn-talk-hymn-prayer plan. A bishop could have five speakers, or one. The main thing for me is that it is planned properly. Having people spontaneously get up, say they like a hymn and having the congregation sing it will likely lead to disappointment and resentment if the same people are the ones that get up first every time. 1

If that's the reason for not doing it then we better stop having fast and testimony meeting because that can get even more repetitive. 2

It was more of a backend change on the technology side that unfortunately resulted in some degree of data loss. The notification about the cost increase being postponed was one of the notices that was impacted. There were some other notices that were lost as well, but none that I remember being really important. Quote I just knew that many, many bishops didn't know about the postponement. I would guess that 99% of the moms (over 10,000 members) in the missionary moms group didn't know about the postponement through their wards and only through the group. So there are many who struggle with paying $500 and not finding out till their missionary comes home. And that's still happening more than 2 years later. I tell everyone I know who had missionaries going out. My understanding is that the missionary application still lists $400 per month as being the cost, but I think it's good of you to let people know about that still being the case. It's certainly something the church could have been more clear about for those who had missionaries serving back when they first announced the change. 2

Yes, there was evidently something more generally amiss to warrant a letter, than the one or two in every ward who make things awkward.
Danzo Posted December 28, 2023 Posted December 28, 2023 We used to do this often in the student ward I attended (1996-1998). I haven't seen it happen since then. On Christmas we often have most of the meeting singing but not in a fast and testimony still open mike format.

They definitely emailed some bishops that for the time being the cost wasn't rising, but either they only emailed very few bishops or a ton of bishops didn't see it nor could they find it. So will they send out an email that it is now (when the time comes) raising to those that never got it wasn't raising? Just text a sibling who has a kid out there in the wild… $400/mo I suppose once everyone found out the church can’t figure out what to do with all the money it has besides hide it and buy resorts the church just stopped “emphasizing” it
