From earlier this year (but I had missed this).

Family Search is testing using AI to automate some of the indexing:
“In just a couple of hours, the computer can index more than you or I could do in a whole lifetime if we did nothing besides indexing for the rest of our lives,” Alexander told Deseret News. “So in terms of efficiency, it’s very fast.

And then the results are being double checked by humans (much as humans would double check humans). This seems like a pretty good use of AI.

Automating our redemption.  I love it.

Proxy ordinances still have to be done by a human. Automating some of the identification of humans that need proxy ordinances (done by other humans).

I hope they use AI to double check the humans too.

For now.

I see it now. We have a baptizee-bot and a baptizer-bot (properly ordained of course). Now, all that would have to be done at the temple is a worker to push a button to advance to the next name!

/sigh ... cynacism has it's merits, however slight. I'm not sure you are hitting the meritorious zone though. :P
