So I'm not seeing anything that specifies that the speakers have to be members. I think some would assume it, but it doesn't specify it.

I think you have hit the nail on the head. I think that bottom line since the church has no guidance, nor does it seem to provide for the idea of a "faithful non-member" attending a ward for years (other than perhaps the non-member spouse of a member) it is not something that takes up space in the handbook. I know we get counted in sacrament service attendance! Our ward clerk has assured me of that. We can't tithe, but we can give fast offerings. The idea of either my wife or I being a "guest" speaker doesn't seem to fit either. Once when my wife gave the Sacrament talk a member of the area presidency was on the stand. He laughed afterwards when he found out she was not a member as he thanked her for her talk, but he certainly didn't seem upset by it, nor did the bishop ever indicate the same to us.

Yes, I was speaking specifically of the rosary.

Yes, I personally know how that prayer practice can create devotion.

It's interesting how it all works isn't it?  Twenty years ago I broke my tibia and fibula.  It was very obvious that they were broken!  On the xray table I started singing A Child's Prayer to myself as a self comfort thing, but it became a prayer.

Prayer and communion with the divine is probably always more than what we think. It’s the divine, after all

What works, works.

You want "truth"? There it is!

Simple stuff it took philosophy 2500 to figure out, and why I am not teaching Freshmen, Aristotle for the 700th time ;)
