Mixed messages and the future of the church

The church is a world wide church. I am sure that we are speaking about western youth and not youth from other parts of the world. Young people in the west are being influenced by social media and how they are being educated in schools and in other areas of learning. It is no surprise that some may walk away. The values of the church are being attacked but this has been the case for quite some time. But now it is different. We see groups attempting to block the word mother from being used or father. We have new words coming into play such as birthing parent and one can no longer use he or she, among others. And conservatism is out of fashion. In fact, in the university if a student is conservative and has what can be called conservative values, that student will experience the wrath from teachers, lecturers and professors and students.

But all this is a western trend, not a world wide trend. But it will influence western church members who are teenagers and in their twenties.

And you know this...how?

These days one must apologize for offending even though you probably didn't mean to offend. I never get offended. People are entitled to their ideas and one can have a good debate or dialogue with that person. I have been with young people my entire adult life. And I have tried to show that ideas should be debated and deliberated. And questioned. No reason to be offended. Or cancelled. I miss the good old days where in universities students could have debates with people they disagreed with. And have a dialogue. But it seems that those days are over in US universities. Now we have safe spaces for students and heaven forbid if a teacher creates a questioning atmosphere that brings students out of their comfort zone....that poor soul can be fired or face discipline. Such is life today and church youth have been influenced by such learning situations.

Many countries have Islam as their official religion. One will not find wokeness in those countries. And China? Russia? Or in Asia? Africa? I think that I covered my bases. And there you go with the 'political nonsense' remark. My case in point. No debate no dialogue just a comment and a judgement.

And there we go again. Remember I stated earlier that church youth are facing a tidal wave of woke thought. No place for conservative or right wing ideas. Just woke ideas are allowed. Go against the fashion these days, and one is called right wing and worse. Lets only read a certain tabloid or listen to a certain media outlet that is liberal. This is what Yeomi Park stated in her statement that I linked to. She found her experience at Columbia was just as bad as in North Korea. And she is not right wind. Just a defector from North Korea who thought the United States was a free country. She is a little disappointed.

Clearly he is not a believer. There are some non-believers though that still want to keep their church membership for both family and personal reasons. For those people, it is clear that they do need to keep their opinions to themselves (or at least out of the public eye).

Not really. My motto is: question everything. And find answers. But i think that I proved my point what western youth experience on campus when they bring thoughts that are not considered woke.

I find it interesting that the highest sin in the Church is not violating some doctrine, nor is it believing in some heretical doctrines; it's criticizing the Church.  Far and away more likely to get you excommunicated than anything else.
