Changing "keep in memory" to "keep the commandments" is not the same gospel. Belief in Jesus Christ is not a subset of "the gospel", it is the gospel. You realize there are more verses in the Bible don’t you? 3

Not to mention how he even knows that one verse, or any of the Bible is "true". If it's because he has had a revelation in his own heart that the Bible is true then it's obvious that there is more revelation. It should also be obvious then that there are prophets. I think all that implies a few other verses maybe even in other books could be true Wow what a concept! If he just believes in the Bible because it was taught to him, then he has no reason to question us on our interpretation. Edited March 13, 2020 by mfbukowski

Not to mention even how the Bible came to exist, as holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. Or what the Bible says about that which was to come: Rev 14:6 "And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people" 2
