But there are some people who have the mindset of the rules above all else... zero tolerance rule setters. For example, the black security guard at a school who was fired for using the n-word. A student repeatedly called him it and he told the student to stop it, using the word in its entirety. The district had a zero tolerance policy for using the word and so they fired him. Luckily, he has been since reinstated. But this is an example of people who put the rules ahead of anything and everything else, context included. So these people are out there. 3

For decades, a substantial part of what I was paid to do was detecting and correcting textual errors. Maybe it’s engraven upon my consciousness. So then I'll call out your math. A fraction could be 1/3 or 3/4 or 3/2 (or something even higher). If, for example, you call out 3/2 of what you notice, you're calling out 3 for every 2 that you notice. That means that you're calling out some that don't need to be called out. You might just be on auto-correct. Is there a preferences button on this website to take Scott off auto-correct? I'm assuming your fraction was between 0 and 1 (and closer to 0), but I couldn't resist having a little fun anyway. 😏 You are derailing. It's not fun.
