Actually, that was a suggestion that Christ once made to the rich young ruler.

Matt. 19:21-22

Yes, I cited that one earlier, which you probably missed.

I noted then, too, that when it came to Joseph of Arimathea, Jesus did not suggest the same thing to him, apparently.  Possibly because Joseph was humble enough and could do more good for the world as a rich man than as a poor man.

The thing about all this griping over $32 billion is that some folks seem to be outraged that the Church has it at all, and some are outraged that the Church is not using the asset in the same way that they want the Church to use it.

Whereas I am assuming, for better or worse, that the Church has the asset and is managing it the way it is being managed, in accordance with what the Lord wants.  To each his own, but I reserve the right to defend my position, and so it goes.

Nevermind

Yes I think you best nevermind.  Your comments on this are a losing proposition.

Clearly full transparency would call for them dishing out one or two hundred K to each member to put in their mattress. That way we know exactly where the money was.

Ahhh snarky sarcasm...

It is a great deflection technique.

Buy a calculator. It’s only $2k.

Not enought to make a difference for most.

Pretty expensive for a calculator.

You could buy a sarcasm calculator for that much.
