 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will adwell with them, and they shall be his people, and bGod himself shall be with them, and be their God.
  4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more adeath, neither bsorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more cpain: for the former things are passed away.
  5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things anew. And he said unto me, bWrite: for these cwords are true and faithful.
  6 And he said unto me, It is done. aI am bAlpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the cwater of life freely.
  7 He that aovercometh shall binherit call things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my dson.

I have advocated calling it Resurrection Sunday. Easter has the wrong etymology and connotation. I'm not sure if you agree with me, but I am glad you are saying it this way - happy Resurrection! Happy News the Son of the Father has shown us!

Negative Nellie here..

Curious to know if anyone thinks we do enough for Easter in the church.  http://www.athoughtfulfaith.org/bob-rees/

I listened this podcast today about Easter and our church not really concentrating on the Saviour as much as other faiths, such as observing Palm Sunday, Lent, etc. And the praise for Him, could you imagine people waving their arms in the air during a Sacrament meeting song, say, before the blessing of it? I would feel so awkward. But why would I feel this way? Is it my conditioning? Or is it part of the mocking out there of being a Jesus lover? The gentlemen on the podcast is a member and has written several articles and poems. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_A._Rees

Could it be why so many that leave the church also leave Jesus too?

*Rodheadlee, hopefully you don't mind I used this thread as a platform.

“And at the Final Day those who did not throw their hands in the air as if just don’t care every Easter shall be thrown into Outer Darkness where there shall be weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth (and no arm waving)” -Somewhere in the Apocrypha

Some years back I came across a passage about the resurrection in Moses 7.  It has become, for me, a poignant glimpse into what the resurrection will be like:

Quote

60 And the Lord said unto Enoch: As I live, even so will I come in the last days, in the days of wickedness and vengeance, to fulfil the oath which I have made unto you concerning the children of Noah;

61 And the day shall come that the earth shall rest, but before that day the heavens shall be darkened, and a veil of darkness shall cover the earth; and the heavens shall shake, and also the earth; and great tribulations shall be among the children of men, but my people will I preserve;

62 And righteousness will I send down out of heaven; and truth will I send forth out of the earth, to bear testimony of mine Only Begotten; his resurrection from the dead; yea, and also the resurrection of all men; and righteousness and truth will I cause to sweep the earth as with a flood, to gather out mine elect from the four quarters of the earth, unto a place which I shall prepare, an Holy City, that my people may gird up their loins, and be looking forth for the time of my coming; for there shall be my tabernacle, and it shall be called Zion, a New Jerusalem.

63 And the Lord said unto Enoch: Then shalt thou and all thy city meet them there, and we will receive them into our bosom, and they shall see us; and we will fall upon their necks, and they shall fall upon our necks, and we will kiss each other;

64 And there shall be mine abode, and it shall be Zion, which shall come forth out of all the creations which I have made; and for the space of a thousand years the earth shall rest.

Thanks,

-Smac

I don't think we do enough for the Holidays. DW and I have been know to attend other Churches Christmas Services just to be a part of that. (in addition to attending our own ward) Both of us being adult converts, we miss that. LDS Christmas services seems like just another Sunday.
