Duncan Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 (edited) I recall reading a few years ago on here or on a blog or something a story and I can't seem to find it again. IIRC it was in the 1920's or 30's in a remote area of a midwestern state, Iowa, Nebraska, etc. and this lady was very pregnant and she had some small tots around. She went into early labour and obviously her kids couldn't be of much assistance and this was in the winter time and she wasn't a member but she was praying for help. Her husband was away or something so she was basically on her own. Anyways, she was having labour pains and there was a knock at her door and she was befuddled as to who would be knocking on the door late at night, in the winter in a remote part of the state. Well, it was the missionaries and they were looking for a place to sleep for the night. She said they could sleep in one of the out building but first they had to help her deliver her baby. So that happened and they stayed a few days until other help arrived. I don't know if those missionaries taught her or others but the family joined the Church and IIRC the descendants were trying to figure out who those elders were and what in hannah's heaven they were doing out in that area, late at night in the winter. Does this story sound familiar to anyone? I want to use it in an upcoming lesson but if I can't find the source I don't want to be passing on a tall tale Edited June 24, 2017 by Duncan

Garden Girl Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 I love the story, even if it is most likely a "tall tale." GG 3
