Where have all the good EXMOS gone?

Where have all the good ex-Mormons gone? I think has been a huge change in the last several years.  We used to have exmos get up and make bold statements against the Church.  They were confident.  They were bold.  Now they have all turned into special snowflakes looking to be coddled by the very Church they claim is corrupt.

Some poor soul over at the trailer park actually *thanked* John Dehlin for forcing the Church (via Pres. Uchtdorf) to admit the Church has made mistakes.  Apparently this person was so "touched" that the Church would allow something like this to be said at GC.  My question:  Why do you care?  You are no longer a member.  You no longer attend.  Why not put some big boy pants on and move on.

It used to be that exmos couldn't leave the Church alone due to non-stop attacks.  Now, these exmos want affirmation from an organization they supposedly don't care about or believe in.

I mean, our beloved @Johnnie Cake -- with all due respect -- is comparing the plight of minority women in Muslim-majority countries with exmos living in Utah.  Brother Cake, you need to get a grip. :)  My brother, an High Councilor in Davis County just hired an exmo.  Why? Because he was the best person for the job.  I mean I'm sure there are some jerks out there.  In fact I know there are.  But how is that any different from me?  I'm a conservative Republican living in a deep deep deep deep blue state in an even deeper blue city.  If my coworkers knew my politics there would be problems.  So what do I do?  Moan and cry about how unfair life is!  No.  I'm just smart about how I spread my business around.

Why did the exmos all of a sudden start to think of themselves as victims in need of coddling?  I thought leaving the Church was a liberating and empowering move.

This is the first step to getting yourself put on limited.

Some people just like to be coddled and will either complain when they think they are not being coddled enough or they will move on to some other place where they think they can be coddled some more.

I don't know I quite get where you're coming from or what you are saying.  Are you saying Johnnie Cake is not a good ex-mo?  I disagree. He's a fine gentleman and has shown it here many times.  What are you complaining about exactly?

Sounds like a new verse to an old Pete Seeger.

"...when will they ever learn, when will they ever learn."

IMO..it is not coddling that is desired; it is just respect and for the most part we get this on this board  Many of us remain interested because of our family members.
