Popular Post gopher Posted January 23, 2017 Popular Post Posted January 23, 2017 (edited) From the article: "A neighboring church in Bellevue (WA) has given a local Muslim community a place to gather and pray after the community's mosque, the Islamic Center of the Eastside, was destroyed by arson." Link I thought this was a nice touch: "The church even left a welcome sign at the front door, along with two large boards covered in messages of hope from members of their congregation" There's a mosque across the street from our chapel. We have a good relationship with them and they've even used our parking lot for overflow parking at times. Edited January 23, 2017 by gopher 8
Popular Post bluebell Posted January 23, 2017 Popular Post Posted January 23, 2017 I served in Northern California and once when we were out tracting in Santa Rosa we ran into a Jewish man who told us that one of the local congregations allowed them to use their building for church holy days because it was bigger and could hold more people. I thought that was pretty cool. 7

Very happy to see that our church could help them. 2
Jeanne Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 I love it and would hope that all religions would be treated as such as well as treating others this way. Kudos!
Storm Rider Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 This is my old stake center; our ward was Bellevue 1st. It is located immediately next to the mosque. There has been a good relationship between the two congregations for many years. It is good to see that the warm relationship has continued. 4
strappinglad Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 It is probably helpful that our chapels are quite bare and without any overt symbols which would need to be removed before Muslims use the space.
