Duncan Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Does anyone know why a Priest can baptize someone but that can't baptize someone for the dead in the Temple-like why do you need to be a MP holder to baptize for the dead? isn't a baptism a baptism regardless if they are alive or dead?

The priesthood holder performing any ordinance in the temple needs to have first received his own endowment. So an unendowed elder would be unable to perform such a baptism.
