It's all I think about, the church etc. And my friends and family, would much rather talk about other things. I love the sides of LDS I see on this board. I don't see that with members in my daily walk, it's almost like it's taboo to talk too much about these things, chit chat is best, kind of thing. I distrust notions like "when the prophet speaks, the thinking is done." However, those we have chosen to lead us are entitled to respect, and do hold the keys to the earthly administration of things, and I hope those who post here remember that.

True that, they may as well go to an ex-Mormon board. On second thought, all religious leaders should be regarded this way...except when they do harm. There is evidence that some religious leaders have indeed caused harm. So maybe we shouldn't put them in a category of untouchable. But this is getting a little too serious for social maybe. I'm on my new laptop so it's a little different but this format is the same as on my old computer. I feel great because my laptop is wireless, even my mouse is wireless. I also have a tablet that has internet access so I'm all set. I'm going to start downloading things like the scriptures, Mo Tab music, family search, etc etc... Anyway, Tacenda... I'm glad you feel comfortable here and it is a place you can come, hopefully to learn and exchange ideas... from the beach on a blustery, rainy afternoon... GG 2

Guest Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 What I love is that this introverted poet, quiet and shy, can be as outgoing and outspoken as manners will allow. I love that I can make friends and find others who are the same and different. Especially those who are unashamed of the testimony of Jesus Christ. But most of those who tolerate me and my ideas without looks of confusion, and that I can extend my thoughts and heart in friendship, without fear and rejection...which of course what all introverts fear.

This is a great outlet for me and I like to learn new things and see different perspectives. It seems at church, only one perspective is allowed and you better smile about it too. I am also a somewhat bored but busy in strange ways, stay-at-home mom. This provides my mind some stimulation when many of my other repetitive but highly important tasks, do not. Someday, I may further my formal education but the time is not yet right. My kids still need my full attention. 1

I'm an emptynester as of last year, it's been so difficult. I really regret not having spent more quality time with them. It was around 9 years ago that I began a faith crisis, and I wasted so much time researching things about the church and it's warts, I didn't spend the time I should have with my youngest. I semi blame the church. Can't help it. If they had been forthright with information, maybe I'd been inoculated. Just some advice, given out of concern for those that still have children at home, they grow up so fast. Not saying you don't spend enough time. I just want all mothers and fathers with younger kids, to value every second, even when they're being stinkers. It's so short, that time with them.

I sometimes do spend too much time on this board but it is so much more enjoyable than following the election coverage! I am somewhat afraid of the empty nest stage of life...I've seen many struggle. I'm just happy I've already got a grandson to spoil! 1
