Anakin7 Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Yesterday I had The Honor and Privilage to Baptize,Confirm, and give The Awesome Gift of The Holy Ghost to my friend Jon [ Who I knew in High School and was my Senior Class President a # of years ago ] who was a member of a local First Baptist Church here localy. It was interesting that one of the people that came to watch my friend get Baptized/Confirmed was also a member of the same Baptist Church a # of years ago and who is a LDS Saint/Christian now. Giving Glory To The Monarch of The Universe my Heavenly Father, My Lord of Life/ Lord/Redeemer/Savior/God/ King/Master Christ Jesus, and The Awesome Testator, Sanctifier of The Universe The Holy Ghost/Spirit. There a # of individuals in my Ward/Stake who were non LDS Christians who are now LDS Christians. I Love my non LDS Christian friends and invite them to come to Drink more from the Fountain of Truth and Rightiousness in the Restored Gospel of our Lord. In His Eternal Debt/Grace Anakin7 2

True?

Alan Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 How come he was baptised and confirmed on the same day?
Kenngo1969 Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Anakin, you are, if you'll forgive me for lapsing into the vernacular of my mission, which was disfavored by my first mission president () a total stud! Congratulations ... to him and to you.
Anakin7 Posted March 2, 2015 Author Posted March 2, 2015 (edited) Alan My Brother in Christ Jesus It is Church policy to wait 1 week for confirmation and giving the Awesome Gift of The Holy Ghost/Spirit however it is the discretion of the Bishop to do both under certain circumstances, in this case a # of friends came a long distance to see his Baptismal Covenant he was making so so he allowed both Gifts to be Given on the same day. Kenngo 1969, thank you as well, l however am but a Humble Servant to do his will. In His Eternal Debt/Grace Anakin7 Edited March 2, 2015 by Anakin7
williamsmith Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Is it actually a "church policy"? Never heard that.I just know of the dozen's of wards I've been in, they all have their own little variations on when and how things are done. And of course, exceptions are made when needed. Most of my Wards Baptism and Confirmation occur after getting dressed from the baptism. My two oldest I did so.
Calm Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 (edited) I've only got to children's baptisms for years so I just assumed doing it at the same time was standard (it made sense as I've heard of some converts who go 'missing' between baptism and confirmation if not held at the same time). However: Eight-year-old members of record may be confirmed at the baptismal service or in a sacrament meeting in the ward where they live, preferably a fast and testimony meeting.Converts are confirmed in any sacrament meeting in the ward where they live, preferably on the Sunday following their baptism. Converts are not confirmed at the baptismal service.https://www.lds.org/handbook/handbook-2-administering-the-church/priesthood-ordinances-and-blessings?lang=eng#20.3.9 Edited March 3, 2015 by calmoriah
