Though I have found it much more difficult to feel the spirit of Christmas this year I really want to wish you all a MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Thank you ERayR... I know how difficult it is for you to celebrate... My dear husband died on 12/26 and my holidays have never been the same... I haven't had a tree since I took down that last one, even though a couple years ago I bought a lovely 8' artificial Nobel Fir, but it  remains in the box.  Every year I intend to hold several open houses and invite people in for "cider and carols"... lots of food and goodies... but I never do.

I wish you a good New Year... you're in my prayers... be of good heart....

Those First Christmases without a loved one is always difficult and will be..but time will take some of the sorrow and make them precious memories. My thoughts and love to everyone at this time of year...and always.

Thank you. It appears you have recently experienced the loss of a loved one. My heartelt sympathy is extended. I understand this keenly as well. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

Condolences to all for their losses, and for the ways in which this time of year may be less than you had wished.  May you find peace, nonetheless. :friends:  (A Cyber-hug may be a poor substitute for the real thing, alas, but please accept it as no less heartfelt, in the Spirit of the Season.)   one of the things I most look forward to about the life to come is that, as Joseph Smith said, "The same sociality that exists among us here will exist among us there, only it will be coupled with a far more exceeding, and eternal weight of glory, which glory we do not now enjoy."  Further, I am looking forward to the prospect that mortality's current constraints ... such as time and distance ... will not be the shackles upon us there that they are upon us here.  Such limitations notwithstanding, I so enjoy being with my fellow Saints, both in person and on line. :)

All the best to you and yours.  I treasure our friendship. :)

P.S.: In the same vein, Dan Peterson posted these lyrics from Christina Lyon Maughn.  Hope they bring comfort to those who most need it, as well:

It's almost the day after Christmas,  but I hope it's not too late to wish you all a Merry Christmas and hope that you have felt the love of the babe who descended below all things that he might raise us up above all things.
