Doctrine 612 Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 So a friend of mine bought a new printer they had the printer for a few months then it just stopped working they tried everything to fix it but nothing. Then they put it back in the box and stored it in there garage. Then two years go by and I told my friend I am looking to buy a new printer for our family, he said I have a new printer that is broken, if you would like it you can have it ( at this point I thought sure you can give me something to throw away for you) I said ok. The next day he dropped it off and I hooked it up played with it for a bit and read the manual for the troubleshoot and found a little rubber bands in the paper feeder, now it works like a charm. My wife looked up the price tag $ 265.00.She said maybe we should give it back since i fixed it so fast and it was only a rubber band.We told our friend how I fixed it and he was embarrassed that I had it only for a few minutes and fixed it right away. He never asked for it back. But should I give it back? What would you do?Also a side note I used this lesson of reading the manual to find answers to our problems compared to reading the scriptures.
bluebell Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 I don't think you have to give it back. I'm guessing he gave it to you hoping you could fix it and use it (otherwise, why would he offer it?). That you did it quickly doesn't change the fact that the outcome was exactly what he must have hoped for.
Duncan Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 (edited) You told him it worked, he didn't seem to need it so I wouldn't worry about it, so count your lucky chickens! Edited October 20, 2014 by Duncan
Calm Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 (edited) They more likely replaced it with another printer and don't need it. Have them over for dinner as a thank you or something. Edited October 20, 2014 by calmoriah
WysteriaBlue Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 I think Calmoriah has the perfect answer... Just have them to dinner before you have to go to Office Depot to buy new print cartridges.... 1
