rockpond Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Sounds like the U has a good use planned for the building. Nice to see that it will be preserved and used. http://www.deseretnews.com/article/865603978/LDS-Church-donates-historic-Wall-Mansion-to-University-of-Utah.html

Kenngo1969 Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Can any good thing come out of the U of U?Yes. (Class of 2005).
Calm Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 My dad....I am rather surprised not to see an announcement on the U's website, I was hoping for more images of what it would look like.
Storm Rider Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Yup, it remains THE University of Utah. My alma mater and beloved university.

Buzzard Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Not only that but also this.I remember that announcement with wry fondness. In the SL Tribune, where the comment section burns with vitriol and derision towards the church, they were all scratching their heads, trying to figure out what the church was REALLY up to.Of course, us rabid BYU partisans were just upset that the money wasn't going to a new practice facility for the basketball team at BYU, obviously a much worthier recipient.
