Tacenda Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 I didnt know the office of high priest had anything to do with soda preference;)I think that it got derailed awhile back, but I do want to know why the EV's say there is only one HP NOW, and that would be Jesus.

Calm Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 It's addicting to some but not to others. That is the way with the vast majority of addictions.
mrmendoza Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 I think you are correct. We don't ordain adult males to the office of deacon first, when we confer the aaronic priesthood. We ordain them to the office of priest. When we have the priesthood, we are ordained to whatever office the Lord calls us to. We dont have to be another office first.I was baptized when I was 27. I was subsequently ordained a Deacon, 3 months later I was ordained a Teacher, then 3 months later a Priest. it was almost 5 months later before I was ordained an Elder. (The Bishop had forgotten to put the paperwork in!)Today all the newly baptized adult men that I know of are ordained a Priest and then, with very few exceptions, a year later, if they remain active and worthy, are ordained an Elder.mike 1
