Tomer Persico On Joseph Smith And The Kabbalah

[volgadon]

A while back I mentioned that the Israeli scholar Tomer Persico had a Hebrew article in Ha'aretz, the most prestigious Israeli newspaper, on Joseph Smith and the Kabbalah. Here it is in English. http://tomerpersicoenglish.wordpress.com/2012/10/05/how-kabbalah-shaped-the-mormon-faith/

Not only does he rely far too heavily on Quinn's research, his tone is sneering, and his knowledge of Mormonism shallow. I watched his spot on London & Kirshenbaum, where he made appalling gaffes and couldn't even get the church's name right.

Is there anything we can do about it? hmmm

Honestly? It isn't worth making a bg fuss. It isn't Ed Deckerish, even though tone and content are problematic. My intetion was mainly to bring this to people's attention.
