ELpresidente Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 1. I am pretty sure their roles are similar. But I believe that one other role John had was to help prepare for the second coming. The three Nephites and John might not always be on the earth, but they didnt die. They can be transfigured so that they can go to heaven and earth when ever they want, if I am not mistaken. They just havent ever died.

And apostles would have an easier time identifying them because they might have seen them in their dreams and might know what they look like. But I hope to meet any of them in my life time. I have heard about stories about occourances with Cain/Bigfoot. An apostle was riding his horse to a meeting when he passed an extremely hairy man. He talked to this man and asked "What are you doing?" The thing replyed "I am out to destroy the souls of man". I live in Pocatello and there was a bigfoot sighting last year or two years ago. Just look up Pocatello Bigfoot Sighting on youtube and you should see some things about it. Bigfoot is not a hoax. The 17th Century Native Americans have even seen him. Bigfoot/Cain has been on the earth for over 6,000 years and still roams today. He survived the flood of Noah and famines and all sorts of stuff. He and the 3 Nephites and JTR have never died. There you have it.

But the notion of 3+1 disciples ambling around the world for 2000 years just seems strange to me now. I don't think I'd take it these days as anything more than figurative. Another parable among many others of an example pure altruism and charity towards fellow men. A model to learn from, but not to be taken literally.

A model to learn from, but not to be taken literally.During Sacrament Meeting and on one of my children's day to get blessed, a gentlemen walked up in the middle and sat near the bishopric. No one had any idea who he was, and he wasn't asked either. He stayed and left and was never seen again at the church as far as I know, we use to laugh and say he was one of the 3 Nephites.

I mean, come on, he should have known he'd encounter a little opposition even before he started. It would have been nice to see a movie about the 3 Nephites, and of many other stories in the Book of Mormon. Hopefully someday soon somebody else will pick that up and run with it.Oh, no. I saw what they did produce before quitting. I am SO grateful someone or something stopped them.

He told us (mission conference) that John the Revelator was instrumental in the opening up of Eastern Europe to missionary work.Joseph Smith taught that John was primarily among the lost ten tribes, althoughI assume that both he and the 3 Nephites (and don't forget the City of Enoch and City of Salem people, who were also translated) can undergo different and updated assignments from God.I don't think their missions entail much tire changing on the side of the road, however . . . Yep the new tires and Triple A have eliminated that need. 1
