Teaser From The Maxwell Institute

True, one thing we'll try to avoid at the Institute is comparing people to Nazi's.

Will is not calling anyone a Nazi. He is saying that you can wear the robes of the High Priest without being the High Priest. Form without substance. The MI still has the form it used to have. The question that has yet to be answered is whether the substance has changed. We'll see.

You'll have to ask Will.

But, Will wasn't the one over-literalizing the analogy. You were.

Thanks, -Wade Englund-

I never mentioned Nazis, you did. Will compared the efforts of the new MI to the efforts of Belloq's character, adding that "it didn't work out quite as he had planned." How could I resist the obvious joke?

Blair's a Nazi?

Thanks, -Wade Englund-

Belloq wasn't a Nazi in the film, IIRC, just a mercenary. (for the nitpickers out there like me) Edited by calmoriah

I didn't mention the melting face. You did. I understood Will's generic point, and I got your joke, and then I carried your joke a little further--so as to make a point about over-literalizing. I couldn't stop myself. ;)

I appreciate the clarification since it was of utmost importance. :)

You are correct, he was not a Nazi, although he sided with the Nazi's. But, even worse, he was French. =@

There were lots of French Nazis.

There were lots of French Nazis.

I was aware of French collaborators with the Nazis. But, I wasn't aware that some were, themselves, Nazis--though I may be making too fine a point of distinction. That is interesting to learn.

Anyway, in spite of my learning, my apologies to Blair for this tangent. Now...in anticipation of the exciting news...

Thanks, -Wade Englund-

So what I want to know is, why is the photo on the MI twitter page in Syriac?!

Yep, that is definitely Syriac. I wonder why, too.... I mean, if that is a Syriac Old Testament, that might be one thing, but if not... Well, then I am back to wondering....

I was told it is actually a book written in a hybrid script called Reformed Syriac containing a list of all our forthcoming book titles. Sadly, in Oliver Cowdery fashion, my attempt to translate it failed. Still, I thought it was a good looking photograph for the time being.

Would that not be "reformed Syriac" rather than "Reformed Syriac?"

Lol. Good times.

Of course, it didn't work out quite as he had planned ...

Too bad you couldn't have come up something about the 2nd movie. It would have made me proud.

Waiting ... waiting ...

I can't remember the last time I witnessed a lion waiting to spring on what it assumed would be vulnerable prey.

But the Facebook page is now fully operational.

A blog, a twitter feed, now Facebook. How about books and reviews? Is MI reduced to, as B. H. Roberts used to say, a meal of condiments only (without the food)?
