A couple of General Conferences were canceled because of the World Wars, a lot of male members were off fighting, leaving almost a blank in Church History, it seems as if it goes from the eighteen hundreds right to the 1950’s with little detailed Church History books covering what happened in-between.Check out Roy Prete's book, it has a great article about the Church in WW1i'll do one betterhttp://rsc.byu.edu/out-print/window-faith-latter-day-saint-perspectives-world-historyenjoy! Mormonism in Transition by Alexander has some from that time period IIRC, can't remember what Arrington and Bitton said in the Mormon Experience though I am pretty sure they covered it.
blackstrap Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Well, the Cardston temple was built about that time period . All the action was 'up north' I guess. The little LDS hothouse towns in Southern Alberta started around 1900 and grew their firm foundations .There are several history books published here on this corner of the Lord's vineyard. 1
