Sorry, but I could not help thinking the title should followed by the phrase " walk into a bar" :acute:

Did it hurt?

Did it hurt?

"rimshot".

I confess that I thought it was the lead in to a joke, as well.

I can't, I'm Mormon.

Could have been an oxygen bar or a water bar....

Or a designated driver thing.

All kidding aside, this sounds like a great way to build bridges between communities.

That is EXACTLY what I was thinking too!!

President Keeler has been doing amazing things with that church- it is in South Central LA and Santa Monica is one of the richest stakes in the LA area.

So you not only have the interfaith communication here, you have socio-economic and cultural interaction as well. It's pretty amazing.

Sure you can! Just order a [non-alcoholic] ginger ale! ;)

A Baptist, a Mormon, and a Jew walk into a bar, which was kind of stupid because the second guy should have seen the bar.

Have you seen the LDS Movie " One Good Man " where the Bishop makes a deal with a co worker that if he accepts the invitation to go into a bar with him that night that the co worker must go to Church with him on next Sunday ?.

I have advocated on more than one occasion that we Elders and High Priests in the church have it all wrong........if we were intent on ministering the Gospel, we would skip the Priesthood meetings on Sundays, and instead go downtown to the bars on Saturday night where the lost sheep of the House of Israel are, outcasts, forgotten, and resentful that we snooty goody goody two shoes Mormons so arrogantly and unlovingly completely ignore them for our fear of being seen in a bar. We would go down, have a few beers, some laughs, play some pool, and actually do something good with the Gospel we have instead of blathering on from our overly boring manuals which teach us nothing and waste an hour of our lives weekly......

Gee, I sure feel special now with my new calling this third hour of this Sunday... :sorry:

I feel yer pain, me too.......... I'd much rather drink a beer with the boys and play pool giving a REAL ministry of friendship to the lost house of Israel which WE have chased away from church these days than go over for the utterly trillionth time the same of pablum I learned at age 6 in church. At least I could improve my skill at pool...... :clapping:

I'll be sure to chop the pablum extra fine, as I drone on and on and on and on without letting anyone else get a word in edgeways, until I start to froth at the mouth and fall over backwards.

Actually, according to the OP,they were walking together, side by side,so no one had the advantage of second sight so to speak.

There is the story of 2 gentlemen of the church who decided to go into a bar for a couple of drinks. A major fight breaks out at another table and one of the gentlemen says to the other "We gotta go,this is no place for 2 high priests"

That was a literal LOL. My wife, watching TV, turned and said "What did you say, honey?"
