Imagine what kind of person he must have been for the Lord to have been able to trust him with being the older brother of, and thus setting an example for, the man who would restore the gospel.Are there any good biographies about Hyrum? I found one, called Hyrum Smith: A Life of Integirty by Jeffrey S. O'Driscoll, and it looks good. Has anyone here read it? Any other recommendations?

(They actually shed their lower branches as they grow.) He showed just what a christian brotherly love is by doing so. What is amazing is: If JS was a fraudster, hyrum would also be. There is no way that JS could have hidden this from hyrum. To have both sacrifice their life for a fraud is unbelieveable and speaks to the truthfulness of the restoration. 1

It would be possible for Hyrum to firmly believe in Joseph's authenticity and still have it not be the case.

His role as the second divine witness and one of the Martyrs of the Restoration are very Important to me.

It would be possible for Hyrum to firmly believe in Joseph's authenticity and still have it not be the case.These brothers were rather close and most likely like most brothers who have a close relationship, one would find it difficult to cheat the other without the other knowing that something was up. I think that this is the case with hyrum. Also, hyrum would have needed to have his own spriitual experiences too and he did. This was also a convincing aspect of his belief in his brother. Also, hyrum would have known that his brother could not write the book of mormon because the issue was not even one of discussion.
