Merry Christmas and Cheers to the Fall of Mormon Stories

Of course they have, but the reasons you presume for that success are condescending. I know you will fail to see why, even if I explain- so I will just back away now and let you do you. -

You honestly have no idea how condescending your second paragraph is- do you? ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ -

Elder McConkie had a thing for putting "doctrine" in titles: * Doctrines of Salvation *Doctrines of the Gospel * Mormon Doctrine -

What other things would account for the fact that when you bring up the record baptism, and retention rates that, they default back to, "BUT LOOK HOW BAD THINGS ARE IN AMERICA AND EUROPE!!!" ?? -

To me it feels as though they are scoffing at the record setting baptismal and retention numbers because they are just 3rd world Africans and Latinos. -

Why is it that those opposed to the Restored Church believe the Church is in freefall because numbers are lagging in white Western countries? Do the record converts and increased retention rates in, um, not so white areas of the world not count? Why are only the numbers of white members important? What does that say about those critics? ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ -

The Vision of the Redemption of the Dead

The issue you are having is that you believe in Sola Scriptura and having the Bible interpret itself (according, of course, to ones particular theological viewpoint). We believe in modern prophets given authority to interpret and clarify Scripture and doctrine. We have, because of those modern prophets, a clearer idea of the overall plan of redemption for the human family- and are not obliged to accept your interpretation of our Scriptures that is informed by your creedal background. -

"Second death" = separation from the actual (physical) presence of God the Father. Hope that clears things up for you. -

One of the issues with Seth is that he seems to "borrow" heavily from Jared "I have a spreadsheet for that" Davies of "Christian Homestead" and other channels without acknowledging where he got the topic idea or talking points- which becomes obvious after a while. Troy Ables said something months ago that makes me believe they have noticed- but Seth appears to be such a nice guy, I don't think they want to publicly confront him I've gotten bored with the "Second Coming Community" channels- too much reading between the lines and grasping at any fleck of straw in any talks or speeches. Jared has become way too dang repetitive. -

@theplains it has been explained to you several times that there are two basic views floating around Latter-day Saint circles. You are insisting that we must accept your non-LDS, critic version of "Infinite Regression"- and keep asking the same question over and over and over again, ad infinitum. It's old. You've had opinions expressed to you several times. It is time to accept those opinions, even if you don't agree with them. I'm getting off this Ground Hog Day hamster wheel. It's time to move on. -
There is a plethora of information available to those truly interested in studying deeply. Remember Sunday School is a 45 min. class led most often by regular folks, not educators. It is for meant for the "life lesson" applications, not the nitty gritty details and controversies. If people want more, they need to take charge of their own studies.

Good extreme example that misrepresents by point... Allowing them to die naturally is a far cry from proactively killing them. And were does it end? What will eventually be deemed a "quality of life" issue that open that doorway to infanticide as an option? When will government decide they can intervene to have a disabled infant killed for it's own good? Things never end with the extreme examples. Canada just recently made a citizen undergo assisted suicide.

Wouldn't it be something if his son Matthew was called to be the next Apostle?
