  1. Have you watched the video covering 12:5?
  2. Uh, you are throwing your interpretation on that "couplet". Let me play! "As man is [mortal], God once was [mortal]. As God is [exalted], man may become [exalted]." * See how that works? Now... Do you believe the "couplet" is impossible? Was Jesus, who is exalted, once mortal? **
  3. Sorry, I fell behind in this topic. What specifically would you like to know?
  4. I'd say a tug o war between the two. Mind and tradition desperately fighting against the whispering of the Spirit to their spirit urging them to grasp the iron rod (fullness of revelation) and come forth through the darkness.
  5. I've already pointed that out to him. He is choosing to ignore it in his effort to make whatever point he is trying to make.
  6. May the Lord, in His mercy, bless this Apostolic warrior. https://www.thechurchnews.com/leaders/2025/12/24/church-releases-statement-health-president-holland-hospitalized/?utm_campaign=churchnews-en&utm_content=entry&utm_medium=social_share
  7. "too complicated" vs. "over simplified" - with both sides absolutely convinced they're right. Seems about right for MDDB.
  8. Are we quoting Joseph Smith Jr. or Lorenzo Snow? Because I thought we were speaking about what Joseph said- or didn't say.
  9. You are completely misreading my comment. Slow down and read it like one long sentence.
  10. It's the continuation of the thought before the quote. I edited it to hopefully make that clear.
  11. So he is ignoring the other verses I shared concerning Elders of this Dispensation who die and the righteous being called to testify in order to doggedly stick to his narrative?
  12. That is why I said "personally"- but I do have to say- I don't think the spirits of the wicked, yea, who are evil—for behold, they have no part nor portion of the Spirit of the Lord; for behold, they chose evil works rather than good; therefore the spirit of the devil did enter into them, and take possession of their house describes the good people of the Earth who are in "Spirit Prison" learning the Gospel.
  13. I'm glad that you get what he's arguing- because I'm still completely lost.
  14. I personally believe the verses in Alma have been incorrectly interpreted and actually represent the two extremes, and doesn't speak to the place of learning we commonly refer to as "Spirit Prison". I personally believe a careful study of the wording makes it fairly plain.
  15. Tag you're it. All kidding aside, we have a program in the Church (Ministering) that if actually done by members is a tool for helping members become active again It is when you make comments like these that I wonder if you truly understand the truth claims of the Restored Gospel and Church. We don't see ourselves as just another legitimate option among many. We are the Church of Christ restored to the Earth and the only Church with authority to administer to ordinances of the Gospel and Apostles and Prophets to establish doctrine and implement the Lord's program. Thus we feel obligated to offer everyone (non-Christian or Christian) to opportunity to come into the covenant that the Lord has reestablished in these Last Days. That verse is referring to individual members of the Church and the Church as a whole. But, being the awesome guy that I am, I will give you a better verse of the Doctrine and Covenants to use when trying to make this point: Doctrine and Covenants 10:52-55 And now, behold, according to their faith in their prayers will I bring this part of my gospel to the knowledge of my people. Behold, I do not bring it to destroy that which they have received, but to build it up. And for this cause have I said: If this generation harden not their hearts, I will establish my church among them. Now I do not say this to destroy my church, but I say this to build up my church; Therefore, whosoever belongeth to my church need not fear, for such shall inherit the kingdom of heaven.
  16. To me your suggestion implied that because we are hemorrhaging members (lie) that we should leave off missionary work and concentrate on not losing/getting back members. Those two parables speak of gathering as many as possible (missionary work) and a sifting (falling away). Just because people are sifting doesn't mean we stop harvesting.
  17. Your suggestion flies in the face of two of the Master's parables: 1) Wheat & Tares 2) Fishermen
  18. I didn't realize Ward Radio contained p*rn, gratuitous violence, or computer viruses. Also, the videos embed themselves, so you get a preview before you opt to either watch or don't watch. I'll make sure to asterisk trigger warnings for the sensitive types from now on. 🙄
  19. Because I'm known for sending people to things that will harm their psyche or computer? 🤨
  20. How about "The Christmas Truce of 2025"?
  21. Made up title for the recalcitrant: "The Christmas Truce of 2025" http://youtube.com/post/UgkxBhca55UMO1e2LilGZPWUMaXR6XaG-ppQ?si=biyMBnd7RgWegYhi *" Thought it related to the topic **
  22. Honestly, I've been having a hard time following your argument and what it has to do with what I am saying. If I understand you correctly... Yes, I believe the the Elder's from this Dispensation that pass away live in a different time period than the prophets who lived and testified of Christ before his coming. I believe the general righteous can be from any period of time.
  23. I imagine it is much like here on Earth, and that a certain level of repentance and change is required before one is offered the opportunity to accept the baptism done in their behalf. Yes. A Temple recommend is no guarantee of Paradise- you have to faithfully live up to your Covenants according to your abilities.
