OC ordained DW and there seems to be no public statement I can find of MH's ordination. We'd need the church record to say for sure, assuming it doesn't simply give his re-ordination information after his period of excommunication. 1
Calm Posted February 25, 2025 Posted February 25, 2025 (edited) AI says Harris was ordained as a high priest in 1831 by Joseph Smith. Now to see if that is accurate ewww….not looking good, link took me to wiki which needed a citation for that claim added: got the year and office correct, person ordaining him incorrectly Moral of the story: sure, start your research with AI, but never end it there Edited February 25, 2025 by Calm 2
Calm Posted February 25, 2025 Posted February 25, 2025 (edited) JSPP: Quote Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by Oliver Cowdery, 6 Apr. 1830. 15 Ordained a priest, by 9 June 1830. 16 Paid printing costs for publication of Book of Mormon through sale of 151 acres. 17 Led members of Manchester, Ontario Co., branch from Palmyra to Kirtland, Geauga Co., Ohio, May 1831. 18 Ordained a high priest by Lyman Wight, 4 June 1831, at Kirtland. 19 https://www.josephsmithpapers.org/person/martin-harris Seems like there would be a limited number of possibilities given the size of the Church at that time, but with no name listed nor a specific date, my guess is the info isn’t known.
