I hope you can do that. I know it may be hard to remember in the moment when it may seem clear to you what someone means, but it will save you and others who then respond to you hassles in the future. It is something we all should do, imo, when we come across what we think is negativity, even if it’s someone who we see as consistently negative. Edited November 3, 2024 by Calm 1

I'm only human. 🤷♀️ 18 minutes ago, Calm said: It is something we all should do, imo, when we come across what we think is negativity, even if it’s someone who we see as consistently negative. Yeah and there are some here who are so negative all the time (not gonna call names) and those people make it difficult. Sometimes i loss my patients a bit. And then i can react a bit to direct maybe. But i always try to stay respectfull. I'm not in Portugal anymore. I'm not that frustrated person i once was. So i try to see the best in the people on this board.

I'm only human. 🤷♀️ This is coming from a Godless atheist working hard to make Utah a worse place so you can take it with a grain of salt. BUT WE ARE ALL ONLY HUMAN. Latter-day Saints don’t hold any patents on goodness. And as you have shown throughout this thread (specially here your behavior toward mustard seed), Latter-day Saints can be jerks just like the rest of us. Maybe instead of spending all your time looking at the “motes” in the eyes of those around you, you should be taking a careful look at the “beam” in your own eye. And since King James reference might be missed see Matthew 7 starting in verse 3: Quote Why do you see the speck in your neighbor’s eye but do not notice the log in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your neighbor, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ while the log is in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your neighbor’s eye. 2

Popular Post Kenngo1969 Posted November 3, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 3, 2024 (edited) For what it's worth (and of course, this is simply anecdotal and is not intended, in any way, to be empirical or probative: It's simply one man's observation)—take it for whatever you believe it to be worth, or if you believe it to be worthless, by all means, leave it—some of the best Latter-day Saints I've ever had the privilege of knowing live [or have lived] in California. And I've known some Latter-day Saints, including not a few in Utah, that one wouldn't know are [nominal] Latter-day Saints unless they disclosed that fact.) And, provided they confess Christ's Kingship and Lordship, there will be good people of all sorts of religious stripes on earth during the Terrestrial World of Christ's Millennial Reign. And I'll take a good [fill-in-the-blank here: Catholic, Methodist, Baptist, Atheist, Agnostic, and so on, ad infinitum] over a "bad" Latter-day Saint any day. In some ways, I might even be a "bad" Latter-day Saint. (Thank God, literally, for the Atonement!) As Brigham Young is reported once to have said (is it you, @Doctor Steuss, that I have to thank for this quote?), "A good man is a good man [substitute "person" here], whether in this Church or out of it." And, as the Lord Himself said: Quote "For the power is in them, wherein they are agents unto themselves. And inasmuch as [people] do good"—and note that there is no religious limitation here: He doesn't say, "inasmuch as the Saints do good"; this includes people of whatever religious stripe, and even people of no particular religious stripe—"they shall in nowise lose their reward." —Doctrine and Covenants 58:28 All of this having been said, the longer I've lived, the more I yearn for God and for His Righteousness. Yes, there are plenty of sins of my own over which, still, I sorrow: I am far from perfect. And yes, I have a lot of work to do yet. And yes, anyone else's standing before God is a matter for that person, for God, and for no one else, and I am content to leave it there. But, as for me and my house? "Come, Lord Jesus!" Revelation 22:20. Come, "beautiful, bright Millennial day!" "The Day Dawn is Breaking," Hymns of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (1985) no. 52. Back to lurking , since I've probably managed to offend somebody even though it wasn't my intent. Apologies for the interruption! Carry on! Edited November 3, 2024 by Kenngo1969 5
Dario_M Posted November 3, 2024 Author Posted November 3, 2024 But i've never said that a LDS member from California is less worthy then a LDS member from Utah.

Especially when compared with those who have left your faith community. But as you have pointed out we are only human. So maybe work on your own flaws before you start picking at others.

Dario_M Posted November 3, 2024 Author Posted November 3, 2024 I'm actually hoping that this topic gets closed. I believe that everything has been said. 😞
