Church really isn't set up for fellowship. It is set up for lessons. Even if you have a teacher that leads a discussion well (rare) fellowship doesn't really come through it. Singles wards and some wards away from the mountain west will sometimes have linger longers. That's where I see more fellowship. Or doing things where you can have more interaction. 1
Stargazer Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 I am looking forward to Conference, but here in the UK it's a bit inconvenient due to being 7 hours out of sync with our time zone. So 5 pm is the first session on Saturday and Sunday, and the second occurs at 9 pm. Saturday's evening session is at 1 am. Actually, there's no reason why we couldn't have regular sacrament meeting on Conference Sunday, since GC's Sunday morning session occurs 5 hours after our meeting block ends.

I'm truly sorry that is the case. I know sometimes members can be not in tune with the spirit and focus inward. However I have found that for me personally I'm usually the introvert that doesn't reach out. The fellowship I'm talking about is the class discussions and what the others bring in from their knowledge and experiences.

I don’t need another hour. I have served as ward/ assistant ward clerk for most of my adult life and I know the hours involved. Luckily I never got called into a bishopric or stake callings. However I still miss the 3 hour block.
