The Real Cause of Solomon's Death...

Last time we went out to eat I had decided in 5 seconds…the one we were parked next to where we hadn’t gone in over a decade. Ā My husband who had asked for input agreed and then pulled out the phone to be sure, came up with several more…me agreeing with every suggestions with ā€œsureā€ until 5, ten minutes later he finally focused on one. We close the car doors, he starts the car, stops and pulls out his phone again and starts the process.Ā
Ā

I have had enough at that point and ask him why the last one wasn’t acceptable. He said he keeps second guessing himself.Ā
Ā

It is a human quality. Not a problem for me when it comes to restaurants, but some other things. In our family though, the men take much longer to choose than the women do, including my son and his wife and their kids.Ā

I was definitely the indecisive one in my marriage, and would (and do) take forever to decide on stuff.Ā  I seem to either not care and so I'm unable to make a decision because it really doesn't matter to me ("pick one" -- "I can't because they're all the same in my mind")... or, I care so much that I have to go full-on Beautiful Mind, and obsessively analyze every possible aspect before making a choice.

The last time one of my TVs died on me, it took me over 4 months to decide on a suitable replacement. (*sigh*)

I always double the time my husband says he will go shopping. Ā I can pretty much fill my cart and be done by the time he is done with one aisle. Ā And I look at labels too as very concerned about nutrition.

With me the indecision is not on what to buy or pick, but whether I should be buying anything to begin with. Ā ā€œI can cook a good dinner at home for so much cheaperā€ is the thought that paralyzes me.

Oh man. Ā We also don’t fit the mould. My husband takes months to decide on things- I don’t have the patience to care enough so I’m a trigger puller. It doesn’t bother me that he takes time, I appreciate his care and exactness. Ā He rarely makes a mistake. Ā

Same!Ā  If I have too many choices then I will never be able to decide on one.Ā  The number of options becomes overwhelming and it is easier to do nothing.
