I was impressed with the comments.  I didn't read all of them but I glanced through quite a few and I didn't see any anti, though chances are there are one or two buried in there somewhere.

It was kind of refreshing just to read comments of support and congratulations.

David has been so kind, and even-handed in his approach I think the antis are kind of thrown off. But I'm sure they'll regroup. But based on his words in his baptism video, he up to the challenge.

I'm not sure many of his regular followers would have the kind of personality that enjoys spewing vitriol about other religions. You would only follow his channel regularly if you enjoyed hearing about other faiths.

He's gathered a pretty large following of LDS (that interest in hearing a little about other faiths coming into play) and had a ready-made group of people to welcome him into the fold. Maybe that put off potential murmuring.

Probably.

I think in my mind I put him into the same category as the Hello Saints pastor, who decided to "go on a quest to learn everything I can about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (aka Mormonism). This channel is devoted to fighting criticism with curiosity..."  He has read the BOM and gone to GC and attended church a few times, spoken with different "famous" members and BYU professors. He and his wife even decided to move from the South to Utah.  He doesn't agree with a lot but he's always respectful and he tries to be accurate.  And he always has a good 'anti' crowd in his comments and members arguing with them.  I think I was expecting something similar when I read the comments for David's channel.  It was refreshing not to find it.

I think I may be related to him through the Boice line — my grandmother was a Boice.
