The Holy Ghost on the same course

Regarding this article:

https://rsc.byu.edu/pearl-great-price-revelations-god/doctrine-firstborn-only-begotten

"Where was there ever a father without first being a son?" (TPJS 373). Joseph Smith's
answer to his own rhetorical question was, "Nowhere." As with any man, there was a
time when God the Father was childless, when he had not yet begun the procreation of
his spirit family. Consequently, the Godhead as we know it did not exist; there was
no Son of God and no Holy Ghost. [2]

[2] The spirit personage known as the Holy Ghost (D&C 130:22) was apparently begotten
of the Father following the spirit birth of Jesus. Heber C. Kimball taught: "Well, let
me tell you, the Holy Ghost is a man; he is one of the sons of our Father and our God;
and he is that man that stood next to Jesus Christ, just as I stand by brother
Brigham" (JD 5:179). Franklin D. Richards quoted Joseph Smith as saying that "the Holy
Ghost is now in a state of Probation which if he should perform in righteousness he may
pass through the same or a similar course of things that the Son has" (Ehat and
Cook 245).

What does that mean that the Holy Ghost will pass through the same or similar course
that Jesus has?  That he will take on human flesh and atone for the sins of some other
world?

Thank you,

Gale

If we are going to pile speculation on top of speculation (even if it is speculation by prophets and apostles), that's as good a speculation as any other.

Even you are in the same or similar course that Jesus has. What does that mean for you?

This statement is one of several led to the "Joseph Smith as Holy Ghost" folk legend.

Becoming a God and Savior of some other world if LDS theology allows for a female savior
I suppose.

Well have fun with that. :) By relating personally to Jesus, we can consider that following Him entails the same or similar course He has taken: you have a mother and father; you were born; you are subject to baptism and the other covenants and ordinances the Father commanded He institute; you suffer temptation and pain and make the best choices you can to obey the Father (Jesus' were perfect); you sacrifice yourself for others to alleviate their suffering and  bring them to Christ; you die, spend time in the spirit world and become resurrected to enter a kingdom of glory (the Father gave Him power to resurrect and ascend to the Father by Himself, and to raise and exalt us by His grace). The most reliable representation of Church teachings that will save you (if believed and acted on) is on the Church website. Scholarly articles and studies have their place but if any points of doctrine presented therein haven't made it onto the Church website, they are not the most reliable representation of Church teachings that will save you.

Oooh... .there's a thought... I wonder if there is a world out there that worships God the Mother and Her only Begotten Daughter... I wonder if it would be any different... sorry, random brain cell fired off. Don't mean to get off track
