Treasures Found!

No, not golden plates or anything.

I went to a curio shop in Salt Lake City called Utah Book and Magazine. They have thousands of old books, and a large LDS section. I was hoping to find the famous, but out-of-print Mormon Doctrine, and I found one in great condition. If nothing else, It's an important (but notorious) book, and I am glad to have found it.

The other item I found was Leonard J. Arrington's "The Mormon Experience"--which is not all that rare, but when I opened the front cover, it was SIGNED by Leonard Arrington himself! I asked the bookstore owner if he knew this and wanted more money for it. He said "nope, says $10.00, and all books are 1/2 off, so it's $5.00).

I also found a 1930s Pepsi Cola bottle, and an undated glass bottle that said "Clorox" on it, that had a cork in the top.

When my grandmother passed away, the whole family (somehow) gave me first dibs on any of my grandfather's books that I wanted EXCEPT FOR his 1958 edition of Mormon Doctrine.  One of my uncles took that away from me.  😞

Going to used bookstores was one of my most favorite things to do years ago, especially when visiting Utah.  I found a few rare surprises.  Some of the best ones I found in Arizona book stores.

Don't get those two confused.  I think the Clorox bottle would be worth a lot more money today given the pandemic situation if it was full.

I found an FLDS book of scripture at a Bookman's in Mesa, AZ. I don't remember what I did with it.
