An Invitation To Paint

[let’s roll]

There’s much about this forum that I enjoy.  The diversity of opinions.  The fact that collegiality generally trumps pettiness.  The occasional flash of brilliance or insight.

I do wonder, however,  about how often the topics focus on the immediate, the narrow; commentary rather than calls to action.

An analogy that has always resonated with me is that mortality is an opportunity for us to create; our life is a canvas and we’re invited to use the paint we receive from Deity and paint a beautiful mural on that canvas.

With that analogy in mind, are we spending too much time questioning the quality of our canvas, or comparing it to the canvas of those around us? Are  we too anxious to analyze how Deity mixes the paint, question what exactly is in the paint, or focus on why others seem to have some colors of paint that we don’t?  

All at the expense of picking up our brush as often as we might and creating, painting in partnership with heaven.

I'll let you debate what the shark represents....

These days I typically feel my mural is not what God has painted for me... but I do enjoy the painting process...

I very much agree in one sense, though isn't the plan intended for us all to turn out like Christ?

Now, if we could all just decide which artist rendering of Christ we should duplicate on our own canvases.
