It's good to see some correction on this issue. When I see the stuff the likes of those fun loving folks at Liberty University like to pull makes me sick. I'm not LDS but geez, these guys make you all looks like literal saints (pardon the pun). I would still like to see Christiandom here (I mean all of you) just get along and do like the Germans, keep out of secular matters but that's not happening, everyone has to have their way even if it means protests and the natural tax payer funded police response and clean up. That being said, I have an awesome proposal, we bring something back from the "golden age" of Christianity, the ordeal. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trial_by_ordeal Think about it, could have some fire and brimstone preacher and some people from the local prisons there to scare the delinquents, food trucks and maybe some Shriner clowns? Would maybe scare some kids straight, make some money, get the community to come together to decide on an important social issue and best part? Good, wholesome Christian entertainment. TBH, considering both sides just want to run off their mouths and not get along, I say we might as well settle things the old fashioned way and provide the likes of me with free entertainment.

He only did so after consulting the city ethics officer. I don't know if you are purposely trying to trust the facts, or if you are just relying on news sources that do it for you. Either way it's sad. This settlement came after rulings that the city's rules were unconstitutional. Before you accuse me of distorting the facts, you might want to read from the original story about the firing. Quote Mayor Kasim Reed’s spokeswoman Anne Torres said the administration didn’t know about “Who Told You That You Are Naked?” until employees came forward with complaints last week You also might be interested in this information about the case. Quote U.S. District Judge Leigh May ruled in December that the city didn’t retaliate against Cochran in violation of his rights to free speech or free association. She also found that the city didn’t discriminate against Cochran based on his viewpoint or violate his right to free exercise of religion. In any event, you completely missed the point of me even bothering to post this article. What I was really reacting to is SMAC's OP where here and in other threads, he constantly calls LGBT advocates bullies. In this case he sighted, they didn't even bring the lawsuit that he posted. Have you noticed that SMAC hasn't called this guy a bully for bringing his lawsuit? Have you noticed him apologizing for distorting what he posted? I guess I sometimes just get tired at all the snide remarks made by a few on this site directed at the LGBT community. Yeah all gay people are all not perfect. But to paint ANY group with broad brush strokes is never fair. Believe me, I could post just about every single day an article where real bullies brutalize some gay kid and put them in the hospital just because they don't like anyone who is gay. You don't see me starting posts blasting straight white men for the brutality they bring upon those in the gay community because I know that not every white male is not like that. IMO, SMAC's posted this article for the sole reason to increase animosity towards the gay community. Given his past posts, he definitely has a problem with gays that believe they should stand up for their civil rights. Calling such people bullies is out of line IMO. The judicial system in this country is designed to protect everyone whether we agree with them or not. And yes, even this fire chief deserves his day in court. 2

I suspect this is tied to an unsaid and unexamined conviction that if one is on the right of an issue one cannot be a bully. To use a Book of Mormon example in the story of Ammon and his brothers teaching they convert the king and one of his sons and the king sends out a proclamation commanding his people to let the missionaries into their homes. I wonder if that proclamation was not a contributing factor to the remainder of the Lamanites forcing the believers out of resentment for that kind of compulsion. Even if well intentioned the action was or could be seen as coercion and compulsion. That is the best case and it went poorly. I do not believe these yahoos are nearly as well intentioned.
