The reasons given for pulling out of the UN Human Rights Council were not related to the current issue. Under President Bush, the US did not join this organization. Did you watch the video? Here is a current list of council countries. https://www.ohchr.org/EN/HRBodies/HRC/Pages/CurrentMembers.aspx Cuba? Venezuela? China? Here is Secretary Nielsen's full remarks from her press conference yesterday. https://www.dhs.gov/news/2018/06/18/dhs-secretary-nielsens-remarks-illegal-immigration-crisis I think her appearance is a rorschach test . On certain conservative leaning sites, many felt she gave an excellent, factual presentation of the issues. On left leaning sites...she was depicted quite differently. She was chased out of restaurant by protestors shouting. "No Borders, No Walls, sanctuary for all." It is the timing that is suspicious. I would not be the least bit surprised if this has been a long prepared for option that was planned to be triggered when it was felt the last straw broke. The timing makes it appear that Trump cares more about himself being criticized than problematic policies towards Israel, etc. because the condemnation became the last straw. That is why I called it a rorschach test...I remember when this happened a few years ago and the lack of coverage. The problem with immigration law in the country is the two extremes do not let anyone compromise. Politically it is a 'death' sentence for either party. The answers are in the middle but our elected leaders are unwilling to compromise because of their "base" supporters. I was hoping the Democrats would fund the "wall" because then Trump would legalize the DACA kids. (If this ever happens, many of his supporters will be very angry and "the wall" would infuriate those on the left.) Immigration reform is a complex issue and should not be made based on emotion or anecdotes. This is an interesting article from 2014...a change in policy was partly to blame for a surge in unaccompanied minors coming to the US. "The Department of Homeland Security has acknowledged that because so many minors caught in the past few years were reunited with their families here and not immediately deported, many Central Americans were left with the perception that the United States was allowing children to stay." https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2014/07/15/us/questions-about-the-border-kids.html 2

Believe me, in almost every case they do not want to enter a country illegally. So why do they do it? Because they can't enter the country legally. What is your solution to this problem?
