I want you to accept what the Bible says and not twist it or interpret it. Hebrews clearly say YOU are a Holy priesthood, and also that Jesus is the Chief or High Priest. Believers are the YOU. If you're not a believer then I guess that it doesn't pertain to you. You're admonishing Bluebell for interpreting scripture here, then you turn around and tell her what the proper interpretation is. You can't have it both ways. "Hebrews clearly states that YOU are a Holy priesthood...Believers are the YOU." This in an interpretation. 2

Rom 14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. Clearly I believe that GOD the Creator of the entire Universe is going to be so shockingly awesome when viewed anyone witnessing His astonishing splendor will fall to his knees, either in utter praise for their salvation or in utter anguish at the realization that they will never ever see GOD again on their way to eternal separation from GOD --- occurring after the Judgment. There is no parameter other then that in the passage. The passage when read says what it says. Mormons seem to be setting up the parameters to apply to a select few among them alone and not every one of them at that. Edited September 12, 2017 by LittleNipper

Reading anything requires that the reader interpret what the author has written. 1

The passage is in an epistle that was written for leaders of the Church, who would have been male. Martin Luther, formerly being Catholic, understood the importance of authority. So, he fabricated a doctrine whereby he could clam authority. Martin Luther created doctrine just isn't going to work for you in the long run.

I am continually amazed at how you guys just make stuff up. Although, that was much better than most. Philippians 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. No, they won't do it in terror or fear. Everyone will do it out of acknowledgment of Christ's roll in their receiving some degree of salvation from him and a knowledge of the truth. All in fulfillment of God's will.

No one should accept something just because someone else told them it was true. That's really low hanging fruit and God wants more for you and I than that level of spiritual maturity. You should study it out for yourself, ponder the scriptures, seek the wisdom of God through prayer, and then believe what He tells you it means.

That doesn't mean that physical ordination wasn't a part of their belief system. Like I said before, this passage applies just as well to Mormons, and we don't believe in the priesthood of all believers. The passage says what it says. What it doesn't say is anything about how the priesthood was conferred onto those believers. I don't have a problem with that personally, you can interpret those verses however you want. The thing that I find annoying is when you keep interpreting those verses for us and then getting up on your high horse about how no one should be interpreting those verses.

Can you not imagine that all one needs to do was to repent and accept Jesus Christ as their High Priest/Savior? Jesus never had anything good to say concerning manmade ritualism. If GOD intended it, it would be spelled out in the pages of the Bible. Edited September 12, 2017 by LittleNipper
Anakin7 Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Does this include The Sacred Ordinance of Water Baptism ?. Just was curious about your thoughts on that. Have a True Grace filled day. I have to acknowledge that the Catholics have it right - not all the truths of God are spelled out for everyone to grasp in the Bible. The mystery of God will not be made totally manifest until the last trumps sound. Then the people will all finally see how wrong they have been...

Eternal marriage is totally unsupported and simply is a human conclusion founded on temporal tradition.
Anakin7 Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 (edited) Actually Baptism was not only promoted as an essential ordinance for True salvation by Jesus, but by Peter, Paul The Apostolic Fathers and other early church authorities, leaders, teachers. He had something to say about baptism and the sacrament, and the bible is clear that those rituals are not manmade. Besides that though, where does the bible teach that if something isn't spelled out exactly in the bible, then it's not of God?
