Halifax is a smaller Temple, it only serves 2 stakes and 1 district but the travel for the Newfoundlanders would be a long time. Saint Johns NFLD to Halifax you can fly it but driving is at least 22 hours. I'd say it would be cheaper to fly it but I don't know any members out that way so I don't know what they actually do. Newfoundland will always be a bit of a problem. There's not a lot of members there. Of course when I grew up in Halifax we had to drive to Washington DC to go to the temple so my inclination is to say they have it easy. LOL. A lot of members in Newfoundland do make at least semi-regular trips to either the mainland part of the maritimes or often for seasonal jobs in Alberta. (Less so now with oil prices where they are) 1

Partially this is because the church is not that strong in numbers in Britain but also because we are often mislabeled. Also, you cannot usurp someone's agency. It is literally impossible. Wait... you're in Britain? Or was the thread jinking off into some subthread involving Britain? I ask because I am about to become an immigrant to Britain.

strappinglad Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 There were folks in Joseph Smith's time who felt they could make better revelations than Joseph, after all they were much more educated and articulate than he was. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
