bluebell Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 I'm struggling to really connect with the Easter celebration this year. Our family has had a lot of struggles and trials in the last few months and it's left me feeling numb to things of the spirit. I just can't seem to find my footing... What are you doing to help you prepare for this Sunday? How are you drawing closer to the Savior? I need some ideas. 1
Traela Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Well, I'm preparing to teach an Easter SS lesson for the 15-year-olds. I'm also preparing a 10-minute talk on "What the Atonemet Means to Me." 1
Calm Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 (edited) There have been some good quality videos on the Easter subject on lds.org in the past, have you any favorites? Perhaps rewatching them might help you reconnect. Something simple, not too demanding. Mental and emotional exhaustion can interfere with the Spirit. Don't beat yourself up if this is happening to you. It takes time to heal. Edited March 24, 2016 by Calm 4

Interestingly enough, this is something that i thought of last night (reading the relevant parts of Jesus the Christ). I'm going to give it a try. Cal, i've most of those short films and they are very good. We're going to try to watch The Lamb of God on Easter as a family, if i can find it somewhere. And thanks so much for the words of wisdom.
Rivers Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Easter is coming sooner than I thought. It's not even in April this year! 1
bluebell Posted March 24, 2016 Author Posted March 24, 2016 I really dislike Easter in March. It's not very springy out yet.
Jeanne Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 (edited) I always have to work on Sunday and so one day runs into the next. All I see are Easter eggs. bunnies and a lot of expense. I hope you have better luck than I do in taking to heart the meaning of Easter. I do know that I have thoughts to words of sacrament songs during the day and I remember singing duets with my sister many moons ago..so I try. I hope that you are able to get through your trials and find comfort in just being with family..and for heaven's sakes..home on Sunday! Accidently hit a quote button here...you guys go ahead and quote something! Quote Edited March 24, 2016 by Jeanne 1
