Duncan Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 I got an email, from family search, out of the blue for this deceased ancestor, I think he's my Grandma's cousin or something but the option on Family Search says you can reserve to do his ordinances and print the cards at home. I don't want to do all his ordinances but just his endowment. I don't see an option to do some but not all. Anybody know how I can just do that and release his baptism and confirmation and iniatory to the good folks elsewhere?
Storm Rider Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 Good question, but I don't think that option is available. An alternative is when attending the temple take the card down to the baptistery and ask those in charge to do the name while you attend to other ordinances. Continue with this process until all the previous ordinances are completed. Then you can do the endowment. Then take it to the sealing area for sealings to be accomplished. It works well and is done often. 4
rpn Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 I don't like this new feature. First, they are adding in children of far back ancestors who have descendants, meaning that I am probably not the one they should be contacting. But even more important is that I'm not comfortable at all with the wholesale combining and merging family search is doing: I can see things that don't fit with the research Ive done. So I'm just not taking the bait. 1

The best you can do is either perform the endowment now and then unreserve the person so they can do the remaning ordinances, or you unreserve the entire person now; let them reserve and do the ones they want and then when they are finished they unreserve the person so you can reserve the person again and do the endowment.
