Aren't we all committing adultery in our hearts?

Whew!  Not been tempted like that.  Guess that means I am automatic CK material. :P  OTOH, a guy with a great backside in some nice looking jeans and button down shirt….

May I suggest trying to stop staring as soon as you notice you are doing it.

I'm a fan of Wrangler jeans.

Jesus said “that whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.”  (See Matthew 5: 28.)  The Lord also said, “He that looketh upon a woman to lust after her hath denied the faith, and shall not have the Spirit, and if he repents not he shall be cast out.”  (See D&C 42: 23.)

Doesn't that mean everytime we stare at an attractive girl that we're committing adultery in our heart and losing the spirit? That seems pretty extreme, but it's words straight from the Lord.

Acknowledging that a woman is pretty is one thing, lusting after her is another.

We are attracted to each other by lust. Love is not an instant thing generally, but needs to be cultivated. It is the lust that gets us working towards that.

Attraction and lust are not the same thing.

DH served in an area where the women had no qualms about taking off their tops.  His mission president advised that the first look was just seeing, the second look was just making sure you saw what you thought you saw, the third look was lust.

MP let them have two "freebie" looks at topless women?? That's somewhat... umm... liberal.

We are ultimately judged by the desires of our hearts, even if we never commit the acts of our desires. Be it a good or evil desire. Think of Alvin Smith that his younger brother saw inherit the Celestial Kingdom.

I contend one cannot inherit the Celestial Kingdom with clean hands and impure thoughts. Both need to be clean.

I believe this is what the Savior was teaching, the Law of Moses being an outward expression, the higher law emphasizing the inner man-your heart.

This is why we are "moral" agents. The phrase "free agency" is not found in the scriptures. It is moral agency as everyone is not free to act (slaves, infirm, physical-limitations, an ugly-dude who cant get married :) etc) on their desires. Thus "moral" agency is what you choose in your heart and ultimately is what you would have chosen to become - thus Alvin Smith not having been baptized in this life inherited the Celestial Kingdom. D&C 137

It also makes the Lord a merciful and just judge-to judge based on your actions and heart.
