I must have said something so flame worthy I toasted my membership!

I don't know what is going but you are in good standing on our end.

Just to make sure - Rain2 is in good standing or Rain?  Because it is Rain, my original name, that has me restricted.

Juliann can't access the site at all and is getting the apache page.  Anyone have anything else they've tried that has been successful for them besides clearing cookies?

I am also having the problem. I can only get on if I turn off wifi on my phone. It is excruciating typing long messages on a small screen. I've cleared cookies. It happens on two computers with different servers so I'm assuming it has to do with the IP.

I couldn't get into the forum for the last few days and kept getting this error message too (either the "Forbidden/ You don't have permission to access /members/ on this server. Apache/2.2.3 (CentOS) Server at www.mormondialogue.org Port 80" message or the Apache 2 Test page).  Now I can get on again....very strange and I wonder what is causing this?

How were you connected?  Wifi, data, directly from your computer (if not wifi)?

It looks like Rain got caught up in a spam delete. I've informed the Board tech.

I am also back after several weeks of getting nothing but the test page.

I used the same log in.  I cleared history and cookies, but nothing would work.  Why it works now, I have no idea.

OK, testing to see if this works...

Woohoo! I'm back! Thank you!

Summary:

I think the important thing here might be that H7's efforts on MDB may well have been frustrated by MDDB's thinking accounts had been reactivated and yet users giving it a try still showing they were banned.

Detail:

Chaos contacted me indicating I should be able to access the site with user ccrw, and to check social where others had experienced strange access issues.   I assume that reference was to this thread.

This is likely a different issue but I will bump this with my information in case it helps others.  It's always upsetting getting banned and having unintended false ban indications is unfortunate for everyone.

rockslider and ccrw were banned users.  Apparently this banned status has been removed from the users profile (or whatever).  However attempting to login with either of these accounts results in a

Sorry, there is a problem

You are banned from this site.

Error Code: 2S160/4

Salgare was created pre-software update and was never banned.  This account let me in.  However it is necessary to clear my local browser cookies before it will let me in (firefox, history->clear last hour works)

Anytime an attempt is made to see if ccrw had been reinstated the above noted banned page is displayed and the clearing of cookies is once again required to get back in with Salgare.

I'm good to stay with Salgare, it would be nice to get rockslider's email address moved to Salgare and have the other two disabled ... or whatever to comply with ToS.

If I can help using these other two accounts in resolving this mismatch of status verses actual banned access ... holler.

Now back to work, I was unable to get into the site with any of the three from firefox, which I normally use.  Even clearing "recent history".  I switched to trying chrome and was able to get in ... my theory at this point is that I told firefox to save my login credentials, here at work, to ccrw, and the clearing of history is not clearing the credentials.

bottom line using a different browser allowed me to get logged in with salgare.

Sweet, back to firefox, at work and back in.  I assume that clearing recent history worked at home because the home machine was not the one I created the account on, or last one used before the ban or some such.

I found my old saved credentials of firefox and deleted them ... that did not fix it.

I then found all cookies associated with mormondialog.org, which still existed ... clearing recent history was not clearing whatever is there blocking entry.  I deleted the entire folder. and it allowed me to get back to the login page and successfully login as salgare.

However those cookies were cached by the browser and so ..

SHUTDOWN and RESTART of the browser was required after deleting the cookies before it work.

Flaky problems people have seen may have been caused by these browser cached cookies  ... i.e. restart your browsers after deleting cookies

Yet more input.

Had some crazy stuff this morning both at home and work.  If admins made adjustments per a error page contact this morning thank you very much.  I'm back in both places.

However, yesterday I was physically at work and all page loads were wicked horrible slow.

Today I'm working from home, but vpn'ed in to my work desk top.  Thus web traffic to/from my home box is routing through my work box.  Performance accessing mormondialogue.org from my home box via vpn seems fine.  From my remote desktop window to work ... its once again wicked horrible slow.

Doing a windows tracert from my home desk top to mormondialogue.org via vpn link
