Can an eternal being be killed? I know it seems like a dumb question but in the LTR elves were eternal beings but they could be killed. I know it's fiction but I had a vision myself once that a being of Light fought a being of Darkness over me. I can remember a few things about this vision as it was 20 years ago.What I do remember is they were both on horseback and both had swords and shields. 13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, aMichael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia. 20 Then said he, Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of aGrecia shall come. War has different meanings. Probably the one that fits from dictionary.com is this "active hostility or contention; conflict; contest" The war was a spiritual war based on ideas and who would follow whom. LDS war with people outside of the Church on what the Church teaches ect.

Both Heber C Kimball and Brigham Young, and their wives, on the same night that Joseph received the plates, had separate and independent visions of armies clashing in the night sky. Neither had ever heard of Joseph before, didn't know each other and were 40 miles apart. Revelation 12: 7 And there was awar in heaven: bMichael and his cangels fought against the dragon; and the ddragon fought and his angels, I think it has to do with receiving or rejecting the "true light," the "Spirit of truth," and not comprehending "the light which shineth in darkness," etc. and acting the part with real intent to get others to partake of the same. In these verses, Michale and the dragon got others to do what they did and these other angels did likewise by sharing or covering the light.

bluebell Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 I think it means more a war of words and ideas where eternal spiritual death was a consequence than a physical war where physical death of the enemy is the objective. 2
