Our View Of The Scriptures

The poll was seriously flawed, and the majority doesn't rule anyway, and is often mistaken in complex matters.

Fine.  You figure out a way to survey how "orthodox" the church members on this board consider their personal beliefs, or how in line with the standard church teachings we are.  I'd be happy to take that poll.

I would not even consider trying to define that- it cannot be done.  We have no "orthodoxy". I don't even know what that would be, when we have no "doctrine".  All you could do is to ask how many have a temple recommend.  That is the only objective measure that exists of orthopraxis, but even that leaves out new converts and the infirm, and those who are having a tough time keeping all the commandments but believe that they should.

Well, just as an example, the "official doctrine" of the Church is that women can't be ordained to the priesthood.  There are many members that don't hold to that view.   "Official doctrine" of the church is that Christ is the Jehovah/Lord God of the old testament.  There are members who don't believe that.

All I was trying to do was to get the members here to estimate how often they agree with Church teachings.

But the members here don't even agree on what the Church teachings are, or even what the Church is. We are the Church, and we don't agree with each other.

Thankfully most of us know we should learn what the truth is from God, though, through faith from him as he gives us his testimony and we learn his doctrine, so as long as we keep learning from him we have the hope of agreeing with him and his doctrine.
