Exciting News (For Me At Least)...

Recommended Posts

I will be ordained a Priest in the Aaronic Order at the end of this month at the RLDS Restoration Branch here in Washington. I am excited for the opportunity to move out in fuller ministry among the Saints and pray the Lord will give me humility, strength, and wisdom equal to the task.

Is the calling of a Priest the same in the RLDS Church as for LDS is D&C 20? Also congrats.

We follow the Gospel as restored through Joseph Smith Jr. and carried on through his son Joseph III. We don't accept the changes made by the Community of Christ and have thrown off the shackles of their apostate leadership. Currently, the Lord is moving to put His church back in order- you can find information on that in the first link in my signature.

Yes, we follow the same revelation in regards to the duties of each Priesthood office, though our Section number may be different.

I had never heard of the RLDS Restoration Branch before. I am curious of how they differ from the LDS Church. I looked on the website, and a lot of things seem similar. Is it an offshoot of the Community of Christ?

The Restoration Branches are made up of believers in the Restored Gospel as traditionally taught in the RLDS Church. We consider ourselves the rightful continuation of the RLDS Church and consider the Community of Christ an apostate organization. We differ from the LDS Church in certain theological areas and in matters of Priesthood authority.
