Open only to Mormons? Or do we deal with alot of "used to be Mormon" et al?
The whole group, whoever wants to vote is in.....I wanted to add this fact to prove evolution:http://www.evolutionfairytale.com/images/moose1.jpgThis "offshoot" of the moose species, the Offshooticus alces, developed an impressive bulls-eye pattern in its antler configuration, enabling it to survive at greater rates against its greatest predator, the homo sapien hunter. The O. alces did quite well against accomplished Homo sapien hunter/marksmen, other than the occasional loss of antler material. Its greatest predator among the homo sapiens has ironically turned out to be the poor shooter, who can occasionally get lucky with an unintentionally low shot. Of course some hunters are not complete rednecks and are not fooled by the antler configuration. Yet another member of the genus Alces is the Orificicus alces. The special semi-stealth advantage of this moose developed after many years of being pelted by various caliber lead projectiles used by its primary adversary, the Homo sapien hunter. Its survival rate is only slightly greater than the general population due to the increased use of semi-automatic rifles among Homo sapiens. Its best defense still remains its ability to elude slow-footed hunters with single-shot rifles.
Darn - I didn't notice the..."I am not LDS and should not be on this board because I am here to cause problems"...option. Can I change my vote?!
I should have added an option for those who believe in evolution and listen to terrible uncreative gateway punk music

I'm LDS believe in evolution, but will not put down an answer. I don't believe man came from adam or primitive man.....he's from God in the end. That is what matters most from my religious perspective

...it was?!

I just kept thinking the hunters have got to be pretty stupid. Able to create semi-automatics, but unable to figure out where to shoot them. I believe that branch of man is about to go extinct from starvation.

With luv,

I voted for "I am LDS and believe in evolution but I believe that man is from Adam and not primitive man". I believe that Adam was literally physically begotten as a son of God (or perhaps is God) but I also believe in pre-Adamites who, I believe, were products of evolution.

I voted as I would have a few years ago. LDS, believe in evolution, but not as it pertains to man and that Adam was first man. I really don't know what I believe now. I think I probably believe the Adam and Eve story is metaphor and that at some point God pronounced his creation as good and put spirits in them. But, it's pretty messy.

Given that 'rednecks' are a fairly recent natural phenomenon, it may well just be a matter of time...

I think the joke would have been funnier if the horns had turned into the likeness of a 'Welcome To Alabama' road-sign, or a homosexual male -or summin'...

Bah. Once again, a poll that does not contain a possible answer that encapsulates my beliefs. My reticence to take part in polls or surveys proves its worth again.

Vote, and discuss
The evidences of evolution are "indisputable", as stated by KtG. Evolution is so pleasing and satisfactory an explanation to intellectual reason concerning organic life and its variety and specialization that it is surprising that it was only theorized within the last two centuries of human existance.

It is heartening to see that the truth about our world is accepted by theists and organized religions. Did that last sentence come out right and sincere?

Yes, it did. :P

LDS and I voted for the second option, that current humans are descendants of Adam and Eve. Now, Katherine may share mtDNA with an English skeleton (perhaps the one found in that cave in, where was it again? Devonshire?), and I don't know the significance of that, but I am willing to be found incorrect on my current opinion. God created the Universe, and I think He could make anything look like anything else He wanted to. I'm willing to wait and see what's up with all that. It ought to be very interesting.

The only thing indisputable about evolution is that the Math indisputably shows that the mechanisms proposed to bring about change in an organism ie. natural selection and mutation, are so inadequate as to make it IMPOSSIBLE. Few will argue that a finch beak can be found in several forms depending on the environment. Most will agree that the genetic information to make such forms was already in the DNA of the finch. Showing how new genetic information can be accumulated so that a dinosaur can eventually change to a bird is a task beyond the realm of chance and must lead one to consider a "mind" behind it all. The Cambrian Explosion of life forms in what is a snap of time geologically also forces one to consider other theories(emphasis on "theo" ) besides evolution.

To trick sincere and serious scientists? What would be the point?

I agree that God created the Universe and everything in it--just not in the way a literal reading of Genesis would suggest. I also agree that He COULD make anything look like anything else, but I don't believe that He does. I believe in a God who is a loving parent, and not a practical joker who sets up to deceive us and make it hard to find our way back to Him.

evolution is terribly flawed and it is a matter of time before it will looked back as a "why," meaning why did we let this theory hold so much weight. The primordial ooze is dead in water. The complexity of the cell is something Darwin never imagined.

Neo-darwinism is a view that requires way more faith than ID.

Oh, and KTG, I know you struggled with accepting evolution, but guess what, you dont have to accept it because man came from God no primordial ooze, and you will look back and say Joseph F. Smith and Bruce R. McConkie were right when they said man came from God and not from pre-Adamite.
