1 Hour Church?

Has anyone heard new and current rumors on pilot tests of 1 hour services (vs, 2 hours) in the Church?

I have heard rumors, with the focus being increased on worship in the temples, which are now clearly and highly focused on our Saviour Jesus Christ and the Plan of Salvation/Redemption/Happiness

I’ve heard myths about it but never anything that had any references attached. I can’t imagine it.

I heard that rumor too, but how could they take away music time from the kids especially?

Primary music stays with you till you die, lol.

It would be insane to lower the kids’ interaction with others their age even more.  Outside of the Mormon corridor, there isn’t often another way to develop LDS friends until you are a teen and going to seminary, etc….and by then it might be too late as it feels too awkward.

From 2nd grade to 8th I had no LDS friends and was not the least interested in making extra effort to make it to Primary, etc.   Belief was strong because Mom and I would talk a lot about Church, but there was no sense of community.  That radically changed when we moved back to California and the chapel was within walking distance and I had a couple of member friends in high school (though the closest one was not in my ward).  Attending meetings mattered to me because I knew people there, got to know others my age relatively well even if I wasn’t buddies with anyone in my ward.

It's been announced for Easter (which is being celebrated on March 30 this year, which is Palm Sunday, because the first Sunday in April (which is Easter is General Conference.

And we've had 1 hour for Christmas a couple of times during the pandemic and since.   Not new at all.

Improbable. They'd have go back separate meetings, but good luck getting the same attendance.
