Been revisiting the Back to the Future movies. Over the last week I have watched the first two. Sometime over the next week I will be watching the third and final installment. I am definitely of the mind, that the old ones are the best one's.

I think Notatbm got it right with a gift card. The gift card is specific to a restaurant, and the people who receive the gift, get to choose what they have while there.

In this day and age, any institution, business, a church, a school, also a persons home, requires some kind of financial income to function. Especially when the overheads include, various forms of media, websites and so on.

As an outsider looking in, I think the evangelicals, and also atheists. These people seem the LdS as a tough nut to crack, so to speak. They take the old saying, if you can't bem the join them, and twist it to, if you can't beat them try and find alternative means of breaking them. As someone who has grown up in the Catholic faith. It seems to me when a Church is deep in history, doctrine and membership. Certain grouping of people, to compensate for their own lack of background. Go out of their way to try and subvert, directly or indirectly, the more grounded Church. When younger I, through Church attendance (Catholic), I became familiar with a saying, Meat on the Bones. This can also be applied to LdS. Doctrine, history, following and leadership.

I definitely remember Dean Martin and Pat Boone.

I have started to watch more things on the internet than the television. Documentaries, and also news from different parts of the world.

Humour, in the correct context can be used as something of an ice breaker, in some circumstances. However, when humour is incorrectly used, and sows the seeds of mockery. Then it becomes God, and his word that becomes the figure of that mockery.

I enjoyed the first two Superman man movies, Christopher Reeve made in the late 1970s.

I have seen the advertising for the 'Book of Mormon's, as well as the recent movie 'The Heretic'. Some may say any advertising, is good, compared to no advertising at all. In the case of these two media performances I really do beg to differ on the old adage. Any attempt to mock belief through almost subtle means. A cheap and nasty way of entertaining in my own opinion, and not necessarily correct.

Sounds like an interesting hobby to get involved with. Starting up, maybe a bit off putting, I imagine once up and running it can be quite enjoyable. There is all types of stained glass, some more complex than others.

I think, during the COVID lockdown. People had to step back from the normal routines of their daily lives. Their search for answers and understanding may have been found through searching a new found interest/belief in God.

Over the years, in South America. Various places are being found in relation to the Aztecs and Maya, but no one seems to be to sure what happened to the actual people who lived in these places. Without trying to overstate the obvious. North, Central and South America covers a large area. As such, people in the past that have lived in the Americas in the past. There may not ant hard evidence to be found regarding other people on these continents as with the Aztec and Mayan. That should not mean that these people did not exist.

AI, like all forms of technology. If it is served for greater good of people, then I think that is fine, as long as overseen by human intelligence. However if left to its own devices, and allowed to take control over people, especially with regards to military weapons, then that could create an entirely different issue altogether.

Very much agree. In the part of England (North) that I live. There seems to be an onslaught of fast food outlets. People tending to use vehicles, more often, for short trips. Children being taken to school in parents car, short trip again, out of front of home, safely delivered to front door of school. Although there are school buses, I think of the type, familiar in USA. And fewer people taking any form of exercise, either home, gym or outdoors variety.

This could be the beginning of hard evidence to confound the doubters. Of the existence of people in the Americas. Who existed, but doubted in the eyes of some modern people.

If the three Nephite are in physical human form. The maybe it is part of God's plan for them not to be recognised as the Nephite. I think someone mentioned in a previous post, Johnathan from the TV series, Highway to Heaven. Possible or not, that this could be nearer to the truth, or not. In effect people guiding people to improve their lives and situations. Something of this nature could have been for centuries, but Hidden from ordinary people.

I managed to inherit a small collection of English coins from my grandmother. English money that was in circulation from the first half of the twentieth century, shillings, threepence and so on. Early 1970s, the money went to more simple pounds and pence. If I recall, in this collection, there maybe a dollar note from the 1940s.

I was just thinking, which could be worrying at times 😊. In the early days of my searching to learn and understand more about the LdS. I did come across a number of YouTube sights. However, at the time I could not quite find the right one. Then by chance in a way, I came across this forum, and through help and advice, came across FAIR. Now I have a number of options that can be of help to me, with the help of the good people on this forum and FAIR. Maybe if there was a YouTube channel along the lines of 'Everything you wanted to know about LdS, but not where or who to ask'. A channel that in effect can be used as a virtual signpost for people who want either a direct or indirect approach to asking, learning and understanding. It could also include something along the lines of 'A Day in the Life of LdS'. There maybe LdS of a mature age, maybe retired, have a disability, or number of others who may have some extra time available. And have done missionary work, or not been able to do so for personal reasons, can be involved.

Although I operate with limited knowledge on this, like most of my knowledge regarding LdS matters. Maybe think of this more through the eyes of humans, rather through the intentions of God. There maybe a potential number of ways the three Nephite s maybe of assistance to people. And the way this assistance maybe in a number of potential different ways.

About 20 years ago, in my early 30s. I decided to learn chess. A book and chess board bought to help me learn, at least the basics of the game. I have managed to get a few games online, where I have been resoundly beaten, but all in the intention of learning. I just wondered if any others of this board have taken on hobbies, at a more mature stage in life.
