Hello everyone

It is me again, most of you will be familiar with already, the newbie on the block

Through the media of television, over the years. I have become familiar with the Tabernacle Choir, if I remember correctly they are based at the Temple in Salt Lake City, sorry in advance for any incorrect terms that I may use. I wondered if any of the site members are familiar with this. And if the choir has a online site.

Thanks for any help, assistance or advice with this.

Many thanks for that, Duncan. I wanted to make sure that I got to the right one. Much appreciated.

I have a nephew who plays with the Orchestra at Temple Square…or it may be one of the smaller groups…or both.  I haven’t talked to him since summer, need a refresher course, lol.

A note on terminology…

The temple itself is reserved for member only ordinance work and isn’t open to the public, so we don’t say things are at or in the temple in Salt Lake City except for those things.  We say at or on Temple Square instead.

There are two buildings that are open to the public and are used for Sunday worship as well as performances and devotionals.  Those are the Tabernacle, the original building we would meet in for conference twice a year and possibly the best known of all our buildings because of its unusual shape and the Conference Center which was constructed when we outgrew the Tabernacle and needed to upgrade the services.

You can do a virtual tour of Temple Square through the contact info here.  I haven’t heard of them before, but I am guessing a missionary walks you through Temple Square either with a prepared recording or live and will give a presentation as well as answer questions where possible…and if you have unanswered questions you can always come back here and ask.

The previous host was one of my husband’s best friends in high school.  Obviously my husband is from Utah. I am not.  I am from San Francisco.  We met at BYU.
