I've made my husband drive through the town a couple of times. The first, we were chased out of town by a truck with dark windows on our tails. The whole town was in church, we saw one polygamist woman in her yard. Yes, I do feel bad we were sort of peeping toms or stalkers but had just read the book "Escape" about the woman who escaped polygamy with her children and wanted to see the town I read about and it's not far from our vacation spot in St. George. Back in this visit, it was like a third world country or foreign to me. Very eerie feeling driving down the dirt roads or some paved, but not any stop lights or very few. No fast food restaurant, all the homes were left unfinished in spots. But now it's much different, with kids back in school, with restaurants, etc. And the Warren Jeffs home being a hotel of sorts, and the Hope Center, we have visited whenever my husband will let me on vacations in St. George. I'd always wanted to volunteer at the Hope Center with painting and decorating the rooms for those that are recovering from trauma of polygamist lives or hiding out, etc. Or a place to land after leaving the FLDS church. But now I just donate money to the groups such as Holding Out for Hope, that's located in Draper Utah.

I didn't know it was the same guy you had been talking about. I thought it was very well done.
